Seit September 2021 leitet Prof. Matthias Kreimeyer den Lehrstuhl für Produktentwicklung und Konstruktionstechnik („PuK“) als Teil des Instituts für Konstruktionstechnik und Technischem Design („IKTD“). Sein Forschungsinteresse liegt auf Modellen, Methoden und Werkzeugen für die Planung und Gestaltung komplexer technischer Systeme, sowohl mit Blick auf konkrete technische Konstruktionsaufgaben wie auch mit übergreifender Perspektive auf die Produktentwicklung.

Vor seinem Ruf an die Universität Stuttgart war Prof. Matthias Kreimeyer über gut 12 Jahre bei der MAN Truck & Bus SE in München in unterschiedlichen Rollen aktiv. Zuletzt verantwortete er als Senior Vice President Product Strategy & Management Truck / Zero Emission das Produktmanagement für das LKW-Geschäft der Firma MAN weltweit, einschließlich der Steuerung des gesamthaften Entwicklungsbudgets. Zuvor war er unter anderem als Projektleiter der PLM Systemeinführung der MAN und als leitender Produktarchitekt mit Schwerpunkt auf einer modularen Fahrzeugarchitektur tätig. 

Herr Prof. Kreimeyer absolvierte ein Doppelstudium in Maschinenwesen und  allgemeinen Ingenieurswissenschaften („Ingénieur Généraliste“) an der Leibnitz Universität Hannover, der TU München und der Ecole Centrale Paris (ECP), und er promovierte mit Fokus auf Kennzahlensysteme zur Messung von Komplexität in Entwicklungsprozessen an der TU München am damaligen Lehrstuhl für Produktentwicklung. Begleitend war er als Gastdozent am Massachusetts Institute of Technology („MIT“), an der Fachhochschule Oberösterreich und an weiteren Hochschulen tätig. 

In seiner Freizeit ist Herr Prof. Kreimeyer gerne in der Natur unterwegs, sei es als Taucher oder beim Wandern, und er investiert seine Zeit in sein Hobby, den 3D-Druck von Modellbausätzen (www.microboathobby.com).
